The Registry
Forget everything you know about registries.
This is not your traditional registry.
The myKarat registry provides the necessary tools for friends and family to recycle their unwanted jewelry on your behalf. You’ll be able to invite them to your own personal registry page (click here for an example), where they’ll find out how they can be a part of your greenKarat rings.
The value of the gold your friends and family collect will be applied to the cost of your new rings, with any excess value donated to a charity of your choosing.

The cumulative value of the gold collected by friends and family will be applied to your greenKarat rings. Collect enough old jewelry, and your rings could be free! - Infuse your rings with love
By selecting the “reuse” option you’ll ensure that all of the old jewelry you collect will be used to make your new rings. That means that dad’s old class ring, and mom’s necklace, will forever be embedded into the symbol of your commitment – to each other, and to the environment. - Help the environment
As in other recycling, changing consumer ‘waste’ habits is important to solving the gold problem. Coaxing dormant gold out of hiding, we feel, is the best way to reduce demand for mining.

A note regarding timing:
Reuse customers – gold donations must be received
no later than 2 months before you need your new rings.
We will still accept and give credit for donations received
later, but that gold will not be used in your new rings.
